Who hasn’t dreamed of a perfect tropical getaway to the Caribbean?
Each island offers a different wonderland of beaches, crystal clear
waters and swaying palms. All that’s needed to make the picture
perfect is YOU! (And maybe a tropical drink in your hand!)
Some of our favorite island destinations are:
Punta Cana
Located on the Eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana
boasts 40 miles of wide pearly beaches lined with palm trees all
along the way. This is where the Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic
Ocean. Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492, this delightful
island is where the Merengue originated. You’ll find challenging and
beautiful golf courses and colorful local crafts.
Some might call Punta Cana the home of the all-inclusive resort,
there are so many here and for every budget and lifestyle. Families
love the variety of activities suited for every age category.
US Virgin Islands
No passport is required to visit these US owned islands! St Croix is
the largest and boasts fabulous diving and snorkeling. You’ll share
the waters with sea turtles, dolphins and sometimes even seahorses!
Buck Island is an underwater national park geared for snorkelers of
all ages. The smaller, more active island of St Thomas is a
duty-free shopping paradise. You’ll find linens, gold jewelry, great
liquor prices, perfumes and fine china. Both islands have plenty of
golf to keep you swingers busy! Check out the Virgin Islands
beautiful and extensive
website.
Aruba
Take a scoop of blue and crystal clear ocean and mix it with a
dollop of sparkling white beach. Top with a slathering of sunshine
and what do you have?? Aruba! Come enjoy the charm of windmills,
lighthouses and twisting divi divi trees ...or luxuriate in the
world's most opulent spas. Come play in the glittering casinos and
luxury resorts ...or wander the unsurpassed pristine beaches. Bon
bini!
Barbados
A touch of British heritage combined with the warm, welcoming
atmosphere of this lovely island makes Barbados a perennial
favorite. Although it’s a little harder to get to than some of the
other islands, once you arrive you’ll know it is worth it. Plan a
romantic holiday, a sportsman’s expedition or a family vacation and
you will find a wonderful combination of things to do and places on
the island to enjoy.
Jamaica
Reggae? Romance? Warm Caribbean sun? No problem, Mon. Jamaica is the
place. With loads of all-inclusive resorts, your vacation budget
will really stretch on this warm and lively island. Ocho Rios is
known for its spectacular waterfalls. Go to Negril for sensational
sunsets.
Grand Cayman
Is SCUBA diving or snorkeling in your plans? Then take a look at
this oasis where coral reefs abound and marine life is everywhere.
Grand Cayman boasts over 200 dive sites plus numerous snorkel sites
accessible from the shore. Don’t miss Stingray City where even
little children swim among and feed these graceful creatures.
Antiqua
A tiny island that boasts a beach for every day of the year – 365,
most on the protected Caribbean side and all some of the most
pristine in the Caribbean. The moderate temperature and small amount
of annual rainfall make this an island in the sun, for sure.
Nelson’s Dockyard at English Harbour will provide you with a great
mix of shops, restaurants and English Taverns.
Saint Martin / Sint Maarten
This tiny island shares cultures from two countries: the French
Saint Martin and the Dutch Sint Maarten. The cultures combine to
make an elegant atmosphere which is only made better by the ideal
weather, warmed by the tropical sun and cooled by the trade winds.
Look to the Dutch side for great duty-free shops and to the French
for French cafes and chic boutiques.
British Virgin Islands
Referred to as “Nature’s Little Secrets”, these 60 idyllic islands
are sure to please. The proximity of these islands to one another
make for a great sailing locale, either on your own – bareboat – or
with a captain and crew to sail and cook for you. The BVI’s are also
a unique health and wellness destination offering various spas,
traditional healing practices, cosmetic care, health retreats,
vegetarian and organic products and healthy lifestyle practices.
